Cheryl Sirkus
Jewelry artist Cheryl Sirkus creates the
beautiful "Sierra" line of earrings and
pendants. Under the trade name
Sonoma Art Works, Cheryl designs each
and every piece of jewelry in her studio
located in California's famous wine
country. Here completed designs
are hand cast in 14k gold vermeil and
then set with semi-precious stones, such
as garnet, amethyst, peridot and
sometimes pearls. Cheryl also
works with other stones like rhyolite,
charoite, opal, abalone shell and
moonstone. Gold vermeil
(pronounced ver-may) is a thick layer of
14k gold over a base of sterling silver.
This layer of gold does not wear off
with use and retains its luster for
many, many years. It's a great way
to get the look of gold, but not the
