Jerry Reinwand
Crystalline porcelain was first produced
more than 1,500 years ago during the
Ming and Chung Dynasties in China.
Produced in Germany in the 19th century,
it was highly sought after in this
country, but because of its complexity
was not made here until the early 20th
century. Jerry has been
wheel-throwing his interpretations of
this historic ceramic form for over 20
years. Taught this complex
crystalline porcelain process while an
apprentice to Phil Morgan in Seagrove,
North Carolina, Jerry abides by
traditional techniques and creates
shapes and forms that reflect this
pottery's ancient heritage. Hand
made and individually glazed, no two
pieces are alike. Each is a
distinctive work of art.
