Monica Jagel
Monica graduated from Southern Illinois

she decided to once again pursue her
artistic interests. Monica entered
the Botanical Art Program offered at the
Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois and
in September of 2000 she graduated with
a Botanical Art and Illustration
Certification. She has been a
member of the Nature Artists Guild for
many years and now teaches three courses
at the Morton Arboretum: "Begin to
Draw in Colored Pencil", "Draw in
Graphite" and "Garden Journaling."
"I try to reflect my love of nature and
my commitment to the environment in my
art work," she says. Monica, who
works primarily in colored pencil and
graphite, has won many awards for her
work. She and her husband live in
Ontario, Wisconsin.
